Welcome

Before you is the new FWF website, which we created with the support of a.o.

While we’re still working on some of the content, the new ‘look’ – designed by Ruben and Martine at Buro RuSt – is already here.

The 'front-back' theme of the logo (roll-over the big one on our home-page!) denotes our work at the flipside of fashion - the conditions in which people work to make the clothes we wear. But a restyled logo and cleaned-up design are not the only changes. In designing this new, English-only website, transparency and accountability have been the leading concepts.

It’s been ten years since FWF was founded and started its work on improving labour conditions.
As the best practice verification initiative in Europe, FWF provides independent verification on social compliance in the garment industry. This year has been a year of rapidly growing transparency and accountability concerning the impact, both of FWF and of its affiliated companies.

Time for our ‘identity’ to reflect that. On our new website, you will find your way more easily than before:
A brand finder and printable shopping list make it easy for consumers to find out which companies are working with FWF. Click on a brand to find out in which countries this brand has production. Soon you will also be able to see the progress each company is making in the improvement of labour conditions along its supply chain.

The countries page highlights what is happening in the countries where FWF is active, what the main issues are. It also shows in which countries where FWF affiliates have production FWF is not active.

A clear picture of FWF’s approach and methodology can be found under about. There, you will read about FWF’s main activities and what it means when companies join FWF.

Each news item contains news relevant to FWF and its mission, and is tagged to those parts of the website it is relevant to, for intuitive browsing.

As of today, the FWF website is English only. With a growing number of companies from outside The Netherlands joining FWF, and from cost-cutting considerations, it was not feasible to continue with a bilingual website.
